Residents of Tympany Point were upset to learn their street is not named for the kettle drums of an orchestra. Instead, it recalls an abdominal distension caused by trapped gas in the intestines.

Ouch.

Here is a map of Tympany Point and the larger area of Powers and Dublin boulevards on Colorado Springs’ northeast corner.

Some Tympany Point residents would like to see the spelling corrected to reflect the symphonic theme of surrounding streets. It could be as simple as changing the “y” to an “i.”
