Probably the most frightening thing for any neighborhood is the prospect of convicted criminals, especially “registered sex offenders,” moving in. But authorities say the convicts must have a place to live when released from prison and cheap motels and apartments need customers.
West-siders were upset in May when Vernon Eugene Stewart, below, moved into the Creekside Apartments after leaving prison with the “sexually violent predator” tag. He was re-arrested Sept. 12 on a parole violation.
